North Pacific Seaplanes - Air Tours
#5 American Military Storehouse

Depart Prince Rupert by seaplane for an exciting tour of Coastal British Columbia & the southernmost points of Alaska. Your journey will head north to the remote Tsimshian Indian Village of Port Simpson. Continue north to Wales Island, where you will see one of four buildings called “Storehouse”.
The American Military Storehouses were built in 1896 as a show of force by the U.S. Army to hold supplies and lay claim to the Pearse Canal. Travel along the much sought after Pearse Canal, this impressive canal is owned half by Canada & half by the United States. You will be flying across the official Canada / U.S. border, also known as the controversial “AB Line”. During prohibition, alcohol was smuggled across the border; on the Pearse Canal at a location known as “Whisky Cove”.
